The classic, no-assumptions finish

This is the GAP Bolt Chassis, Black Finish.
Solid Black is the GAP bolt action chassis without a terrain assumption built in, the option most owners reach for when the rifle sees varied use rather than one specific environment the camo finishes are built around. Structurally it is identical to every other finish we stock: same aluminium body, same bedding, same modular forend and grip interface.
Why the bedding matters more than the colour
An aluminium chassis holds the action rigid under bipod load in a way a synthetic stock cannot, which is what lets the barrel return to the same point of impact shot after shot. That consistency is the actual product; the finish is cosmetic.
What to confirm before ordering
Check the inlet matches your action, the forend clears your barrel contour, and your magazine is supported. A heavy-contour barrel needs a forend cut for it. Most ergonomic adjustment happens through interchangeable grips and stocks once the base chassis is fitted.
The tradeoff you’re making
More weight than a synthetic stock, which steadies the rifle on a bipod and works against you over a long carry. In return you get a modular platform, forend, grip and stock all swappable independently as your needs change.

FAQ
Why choose solid Black over a camo pattern? Black is the classic, all-purpose option, no terrain assumption baked in, and it is the finish most owners pick when the rifle is used across varied settings rather than one specific environment.
Is Black more or less durable than the camo finishes? No functional difference; wear shows differently on a solid colour than on a pattern, but the underlying coating and material are the same.
Can I have this refinished in one of your other patterns later? Usually, through a coatings specialist, matching the base material to the process first. Most owners choose their finish once and keep it rather than refinishing.
