How returns, replacements and refunds work at Blackout Ammunition
We stand behind every order. Because ammunition is a regulated, safety-sensitive product, returns are necessarily limited — but if something is wrong with your order, we will make it right. This page explains exactly how returns, replacements and refunds work when you buy 8.6 Blackout or 300 Blackout ammo from us.
Can you return ammunition?
For safety and legal reasons, ammunition cannot be returned once it has shipped, except where it is defective or the order was filled incorrectly. This is standard practice across the entire ammunition industry: once a box of ammo leaves a seller, there is no way to verify how it has been stored or handled, so it cannot be returned to inventory or resold. We know that is stricter than a typical online store, and it exists to protect every customer.
Damaged, defective or incorrect orders
If your order arrives damaged, is defective, or is not what you ordered, we will replace it or refund it — your choice. Please contact us within 30 days of delivery with your order number and clear photos of the issue, including the packaging if it was damaged in transit. We will review it quickly and arrange a replacement or refund. We want you to feel confident ordering from us, and standing behind damaged, defective or incorrect orders is part of that.
How to start a return or claim
Starting a claim is simple:
- Contact us through our contact page with your order number.
- Describe the issue and attach photos of the product and the packaging.
- We will respond with next steps — usually a prepaid return label for incorrect items, or a straight replacement or refund for damaged or defective ones.
Please do not ship anything back before contacting us; we will tell you whether a return is needed and how to handle it safely and legally.
Refund timeframes
Once your refund is approved, we process it back to your original payment method. Depending on your bank or card issuer, it can take a few business days for the funds to appear on your statement. We will confirm by email as soon as the refund is issued so you know it is on the way.
Non-ammunition items
Unlike loaded ammunition, non-ammunition products such as barrels, uppers, and accessories may be eligible for return if they are unused, uninstalled, and in their original packaging. Contact us within 30 days of delivery to arrange it. Items that have been installed, fired, or modified cannot be returned. A restocking fee may apply to some non-defective returns; we will always tell you up front if it does.
Order cancellations
Need to cancel? If your order has not shipped yet, contact us as soon as possible and we will cancel it and issue a full refund. Once an order has been dispatched, it falls under the returns terms above. We process and ship orders quickly, so if you need to cancel, reach out right away to give us the best chance of catching it before it leaves.
Orders we cannot legally ship
If you place an order we are unable to lawfully ship to your address — for example, to a state, county or city that restricts ammunition delivery — we will cancel the order and refund you in full. You can read more about where and how we ship on our shipping and delivery page.
Why our returns policy is strict
We understand a limited returns policy can feel cautious, so here is the reasoning. Ammunition is a safety-critical product. A round that has been outside our control — stored in heat, exposed to moisture, or handled improperly — can be unsafe to resell, and we will not put another customer at risk by returning it to stock. The policy also reflects the way ammunition sales are regulated. By keeping our terms clear and consistent, we protect you, the next customer, and ourselves — while still guaranteeing that any genuine problem with your order gets resolved.
