This is the 152gr solid copper fracturing projectile for .308 Winchester, sold as a bare reloading component. We stock two weights in this design for .308, 152gr and 175gr, and which one you want depends on what range and what game you are actually loading for.

152gr versus the heavier 175gr

152gr leaves the muzzle faster and flies flatter inside 300 yards than the heavier 175gr, which is the load most .308 shooters reach for on deer-sized game at moderate range, or for a rifle used across a mix of hunting and target work where a flatter near-range trajectory simplifies holdover. It sheds velocity, and therefore energy, faster than the 175gr past that range. If your shooting is consistently past 300 yards or your game is larger-bodied, the heavier option in this same line is the better fit; if not, this is the more versatile everyday weight.

Twist rate

152gr stabilizes comfortably in the 1:12 twist that many older .308 hunting rifles were cut to, as well as the faster 1:10 that most modern rifles ship with. This is the weight where twist rate is genuinely not a concern, unlike the heavier 175gr, which leans on the faster twist.

Lead free construction
