Blackout Mist is a muted grey-black finish for the GAP bolt action chassis, aimed at low-light conditions and urban settings where a bright or warm-toned finish stands out more than the environment calls for. It sits on the same chassis as every other finish we stock, same aluminium body, same bedding system, same modular interface.

What actually drives accuracy here

The finish is cosmetic; the bedding is not. An aluminium chassis holds the action rigid under bipod load in a way a flexing synthetic stock cannot, and that rigidity is what turns a good barrel into a rifle that groups consistently, not the colour it’s wearing.

What to check before ordering

Match the inlet to your action, confirm barrel clearance in the forend, and verify your magazine is supported. A heavy-contour barrel needs a forend cut for it; most of the remaining ergonomic adjustment comes from interchangeable grips and stocks rather than the chassis body itself.

Weight and modularity, the same tradeoff every chassis makes

Expect more weight than a synthetic stock, useful for stability on a bipod, less useful on a long carry. In return the rifle becomes a set of swappable parts, forend, grip, stock, rather than one fixed configuration.
