What this is

This is factory new 8.6 Blackout brass, empty casings only, 50 per pack. It is not loaded ammunition and it is not a projectile, this is the case component alone for handloaders assembling their own 8.6 Blackout ammunition from scratch.

Why start with new brass

New brass has not been fired, so it has none of the case-wall thinning or primer pocket wear that range or once-fired brass can carry. Starting a load development project on new brass removes one variable, you know the case itself is not the reason for an inconsistent result.

Prep before loading

Even new brass typically needs a primer pocket check and a case length check against your reloading manual’s spec before the first load. Skipping prep on new brass is a common source of avoidable feeding or chambering issues on a first batch.

Reloadable life

A case in good condition can generally be reloaded several times. Inspect for case wall thinning, primer pocket looseness and any sign of incipient case head separation each time you reload, and retire a case rather than push it past those signs.
